Megalithic complex

 

A complex formed by a number of dolmens, menhirs, cists and petroglyphs that make up one of the most complete and impressive megalithic itineraries of the Costa Brava.

Pride of place goes to the Dolmen de la Creu de Cobertella, one of the largest prehistoric funeralmonuments in Catalonia, formed by seven immensestone blocksset vertically.It was declareda historical-artistic monument in March 1964.

Other notable items are two menhirs of the Casa Cremada, dating from the 4thor 3rdcentury BC; the cist of the Casa Cremada, used for funeral purposeslike the dolmens, and the cave-dolmen of the Rec de la Cuana, dated to 2500 BC.
