The Figueres-Púbol-Port Lligat triangle was created by Salvador Dalí, the Catalan artist who is consideredone of the prime representatives of Surrealism.
The Dalí Theatre-Museum, in Figueres, is a 19th-century building that was badly damaged at the end of the Spanish Civil War, where Dalí decided to establish his own museum.
In 1969, Dalí bought a small, severely deteriorated castle in the village of Púbol and reformed it with his own creativeefforts as a gift for his wife and muse, Gala. It was opened to the public in 1996.
Port Lligat, now the Dalí House-Museum, was the only house where Salvador Dalí lived and worked habitually until Gala’sdeath in 1982,after which he moved to Púbol.
